It is at this point that traders should employ other aspects of technical analysis to identify or confirm a reversal. This depends on how far back you decide to use for high and low points.

## The Sequence and Ratios

The Fibonacci Retracements Tool at StockCharts shows four common retracements: %, %, 50%, and %. From the Fibonacci section above, it is clear that %, %, and % stem from ratios found within the Fibonacci sequence. The 50% retracement is not based on a Fibonacci number.

Chart 3 shows Anadarko Petroleum (APC) with the Fibonacci Fan lines extending up from the July low to the October high ().
